Why do you feel this person deserves to be honored? : Gary has been a resident, business owner and community volunteer in Los Osos since 1982. He is a professional golfer and has used his talent and success to enhance the lives of children and adults through golf lessons and opportunities to play. He is instrumental in the creation of “First Tee”, an organization designed to give kids the tools and inspiration to play golf. For twenty years, Gary has dedicated his “free time” to youth soccer, as a coach and mentor so kids can build confidence, skills and play soccer successfully.

Along with his father, Rocky Setting, and through Sea Pines Golf Resort, Gary has provided the community with family oriented events such as their highly popular Concerts on the Green. Kids can bring their family and dogs to enjoy music, dancing, grass games--all free of charge. He is a gracious employer and gives his staff positive encouragement and every opportunity to be the best they can be.
There is so much more that Gary has contributed to our community, but humility is at the top of his value system. He has definitely had a positive impact on the community of Los Osos and made it a better place.
